Angelika Zerfass
I was lucky and my parents gifted me with a talent for languages, logical thinking and the joy of teaching. A good basis for what I am doing right now – teaching the use of software in the language industry.
It all started with a degree in translation (Chinese, Japanese) plus computational linguistics at the University of Bonn, Germany. After that I quickly had the chance to work for a company developing a translation tool (in Germany, Japan and the US).

In 2000 I went freelance (because one piece of software just was not enough). Since then I have worked with several different tools, but am focusing mostly on 2 of them nowadays: memoQ/memoQ server and Trados Studio (including the respective term base systems).
I am especially fascinated by XML, XLIFF and regular expressions (REGEX) and am always happy when I get a chance to spread my knowledge.

Participants of my presentations and training sessions often tell me that I am good at explaining complex topics. But see for yourself and check out some of the webinar recordings freely available on YouTube .
